Against All Odds, Fugitive Politician Kashamu Buruji Shrugs Off Last Minutes Challenge From Ex Governor Daniel To Make INEC List Of Candidates For Senatorial Contest

Against all odds, fugitive politician Kasahmu Buruji has emerged the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the Ogun East Senatorial contest.

Buruji emphatically declared wanted by a United States of America court for drug related offences shrugged off a late challenge by former governor and fellow party man, Otunba Gbenga Daniel to secure the ticket.

Daniel is believed to have renewed interest in becoming party Senatorial flag bearer based on reported prompting by party leadership.

The attempt is believed to be the fallout of reconciliatory moves between President Goodluck Jonathan and his estranged mentor former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

The former president has consistently listed need to make Buruji politically non relevant based on his fugitive status – and face charges against him – part of conditions for peace

The President is believed to have initiated the move ahead of much reportedly parley with Chief Obasanjo, that had celebrated religious leader Bishop David Oyedepo and Pastor Enoch Adeboye

in attendance – by giving the go ahead for Otunba Daniel to wrest the ticket from Buruji.

The move however proved ill fated with Kashamu’s emerging listed candidate of the PDP by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

This however is the first of a major political challenge for the fugitive PDP chieftain.

With the ticket in his kitty, he faces eight other opponents.

His major oppositions are incumbent operating under the platform of Social Democratic Party Senator Gbenga Kaka and Dapo Abiodun, flag bearer contesting on the platform of the party in control of the state government, All Progressives Party and enjoys major backing of sitting Governor Ibikunle Amosun as personal friend.

Incidental Kaka’s party, SDP enjoys the sympathy of the political structure of Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s arm of PDP.

The SDP is said to have an arrangement to work together for the return of President Goodluck Jonathan as President.

Insider information infer this arrangement would be put to use in stopping fugitive Kashamu from becoming a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

An eventuality that would help a long helping to put Otunba Daniel in driver seat of the Ogun PDP and also mend fences with between Chief Obasanjo and President Jonathan.

Sources however confirmed Kashamu is not taking threats to his political ambition laying low, he is said to lobbying hard to have his way.

He is said to be making ‘big offers’ to pdp and opposition members to ensure he succeeds.

‘ He is also working on those considers not too serious contenders on other political platforms to sway their votes his ways’ an insider disclosed.

Others contenders for the Ogun East Senatorial post incudes Olaopa Olubunmi – DPP, Adeniji Kazeem – ADC, Dele Okenla – LP, Lawal Laeef – NNPP, Odeneye Moji – UDP and Mufutau Onasanya – UPN
