With the touchable strength being gathered by the campaign train of rival party All Progressives Party – APC, there is a fresh level of commitment in the ranks of the men and key supporters of re election seeking President Goodluck Jonathan – ‘all hands on deck’.

And this is not only in words but in needs, including willing and ready to make sacrifices to ensure support base remains intact, and also to encroach into that of the opponents.

And with this level of understanding comes spoken and unspoken agreement, ‘efforts’ will be rewarded after all said and done with the President returned to office.

Stella Oduah and Andy Ubah both had their names conspicuously missing from the list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

In their stead John Okechukwu represents Anambra North for PDP while Chris Uba stands for the party in Anambra South. Both candidates secured victory via court order including the third Senatorial ticket holder in Anambra Central Annie Okonkwo.

It is believed this ploy will help not to make PDP party members pliable to growing influences of the APC.

The President and his party lost 22 gubernatorial aspirants along with their supporters to the APC in Akwa Ibom state due to internal squabbles.

A related loss was experienced in Ondo state, the President’s state Bayelsa and other areas.

The latest ‘accept Inec decision and hands on deck’ in expectations of a ‘worthy reward’ ploy is aimed at stemming in fighting resulting in defection of members.

The situation is said to be such that the Presidential campaign organisation has become a bit fidgety with the defection swelled ranks of the opposition.
