Again, Gbenga Daniel Snubs Dapo Abiodun

in pursuit of his ambition

Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ogun East started his campaign for the 2023 election on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the former Ogun state Governor – 29 May 2003 to May 2011- snubbed the incumbent Governor, Dapo Abiodun with this move.

The Governor is said to have issued an advisory to all APC candidates not to kick off their campaigns until further notice.

The state party chairman, Yemi Sanusi reportedly passed across the Governor’s advisory.

The information at hand, however, revealed that the senatorial candidate supporters love to address as OGD (Otunba Gbenga Daniel) chose to do otherwise by flagging off his senatorial campaign on Sunday in Ishagamu, Ogun State.

In retaliation Governor Abiodun, notable members of his administration, and leaders of the APC in Ogun state including the party chairman sunned the event that was held at the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi.

Checks by SocietyNow.Ng , however, the presence of Daniel’s strong loyalists and allies in the state boosted by the attendance of influential party leaders from out of the state added flamboyant color to the event.

Among those in attendance were, Former Senators Gbenga Kaka and Ganiu Solomon, Ex-Minister Musiliu Obanikoro, House of Representatives Member Yetunde Onanuga, Former Deputy Governors Salmot Badru and Yetunde Onanuga, House of Representatives candidate Gboyega Isiaka, former Lagos commissioner Wale Edun and former deputy speaker of the Ogun state House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri.

The party leaders from out of Ogun state are identified major part of the political family of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The checks by SocietyNow.Ng revealed that the flag-off of his senatorial campaign is not the first time that Daniel has snubbed Abiodun in pursuit of his ambition.

The former governor declared his ambition to contest for the APC senatorial ticket against the wishes of the incumbent and snubbed pressure applied through third parties until he became the APC candidate for Ogun East Senatorial district.
