The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun is unrelenting in his vow against Wale Adedayo.

Adedayo is the Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government whose allegation against Abiodun sparked a chain reaction that resulted in his impeachment.

Adedayo accused Abiodun of not releasing statutorily allocated local government funds since his first term in office.

Abiodun who was first sworn as Governor of Ogun State in 2019 is on a second term that began on May 29, 2023.

The Governor denied the allegation and vowed to ‘ensure Wale Adedayo is held responsible” for the claims.

“There are two things; he lied against me as the governor, he lied against me as Dapo Abiodun, he spoilt my name, and he tried to incite the public against the government. Wale Adedayo has to answer all these allegations one after the other.” Abiodun declared last week during a meeting with leaders of the APC in Ijebu East Local Government.

And the Governor puts action to his words an invitation to Adedayo by the Ogun state police command based on a petition written by the State Government.

“Son of man is being taken to Ogun State Police CID at Eleweran, Abeokuta. They claim the State Government wrote a petition against me. If it is death I follow the path of the Patriarchs. Ase di owo Olodumare! (The Creator has the final say)” Adedayo wrote on his social media page yesterday, September 25, 2023.

Adedayo, before the latest twist, spent time in the custody Department of State Services over his claims against Abiodun.

He stuck by his gun about his assertions against the Governor after his release from DSS.

The council chairman was impeached in a process he called shady after the development and went as far as calling out the principal actors in a social media post.

The involvement of the “Ogun State Police CID at Eleweran” is the latest angle in an unraveling that remains the talk of the town.
