The grand burial of Mama Florence Adewunmi Ojuroye concluded on Friday, May 2, 2025, and it was a roll-call of prominent personalities—from the funeral service at the Methodist Church, Sagamu, to the reception.

Notable attendees included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun; former Borno State Governor and one-time senator Ali Modu-Sheriff; GTCO CEO Segun Agbaje; insurance magnate Hassan Odukale;

former speaker and Remo Federal House of Representatives aspirant Muyiwa Oladipo; federal lawmaker Gboyega Nasir Isiaka; Ibe Kachikwu former Minister of State for Petroleum; Bet9ja Chairman and Remo Stars owner Kunle Soname;

as well as the entire cabinet of the Ogun State Government—underscoring the high-profile nature of the event.

Preceding the burial was a well-attended wake-keep ceremony held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the NUGA Planets Event Hall, Oba Erinwole Road, Sagamu, Ogun State.

Oladipo—widely acknowledged as a popular contender in the race to succeed the late Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Adewunmi Onanuga, as federal legislator for Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North—and

Soname, co-owner of Bet9ja and founder of private airline ValuJet, led appearances at the wake-keep for the matriarch of the Ojuroye family, who was fondly referred to as the “mother of all.”

Checks confirmed that the final rites for Mama Ojuroye, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 85, began with a two-week football tournament that concluded on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Oladipo—whose campaign for the Remo Federal Constituency seat is buoyed by his experience as a multiple-term commissioner and strong grassroots following—served as the special guest of honor at the football tournament.
