Why All Eyes Are On Bank CEO, Ademola Odeyemi

Ademola Odeyemi, the friend of many known as AA Odeyemi – the other A is for the Ayodeji, usually silent in his name – is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Optimus Bank.

Optimus bank is financial institution that prides it self as “building banking infrastructure that meet global business, and personal needs”

Odeyemi was appointed Managing Director in March 2022.

And also eyes have been on him since then.

Reason?

He was one those heavily pushed as the Segun Agbaje’s successor as the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).

He, however; “retired” to pave way for the emergence of Miriam Olusanya as the first female Managing Director at GTBank in July 2021 according to those in the know.

With a financial sector experience and expertise that covers financial control, strategy, corporate planning, and international banking, Odeyemi left GTBank as the Executive Director and Head of International Banking,

With over two decades of “professional banking experience in domestic and International banking” , he reportedly served on the Board of all Guaranty Trust Bank’s subsidiaries and other companies before his exit in 2021.
