Insiders Identify Bank CEO Ademola Odeyemi’s Key Men In Bid To Prove His Mettle

Ademola Odeyemi, the Chief Executive Officer of the bank “with a vision to unlock new opportunities for our stakeholders and communities”  is hard at work to prove his mettle.

And insiders have identified the key men of the Optimus Bank front man in this bid.

Odeyemi was touted as the successor to Segun Agbaje as the Chief Executive Officer at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) before the appointment of first female Managing Director, Miriam Olusanya in July 2021.

Odeyemi who was “retired” as Executive Director and Head of International Banking at GTBank  to pave way for Olusanya to succeed Agbajae was named the Chief Executive Officer at Optimus Bank in March 2022.

“He obviously has his work cut out for him, because aside profiting customers, investors and related stakeholders at Optimus Bank he has been offered an opportunity to show those at GTBank they are wrong in not appointing him as Managing Director” SocietyNow.Ng.

Checks made SocietyNow.Ng has, however, revealed Odeyemi’s key men in working to prove his mettle as the Managing Director at the bank that prides itself as ““building banking infrastructure that meet global business, and personal needs”.

One of them is Abiodun Alli according to those in the know.

Alli is the Chief Digital Officer at Optimus Bank.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that before he took up his appointment at Optimus Bank, Alli had played significant role in digital arm of different financial institutions including Access Bank, Polaris Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank.

With over two decades of professional banking experience in Information technology and Digital Banking sphere, Alli is credited with vast knowledge in card, virtual banking and USSD as well business and ATM/POS solutions.

A master of business administration degree holder from the University of Livepool, he is also a graduate of computer science with economics from the Obafemi Awolow University, Osun state.

Another vital figure in the Managing Director’s play is fingered as Friday Idise.

Idise, a former Guaranty Trust Bank man like the Managing Director, is the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

The former Group, Credit Risk Management at GTBank is credited with a deep knowledge and understanding of risk management, especially in risk analytics and modelling.

According to his pofile, Idise is also a former Head, Credit Risk Management at Zenith Bank is attributed with experience in managing international rating agencies relationships, CBN/NDIC Risk-based and other Statutory audits as well as designing and implementing risk rating models for various business segments and stress testing models.

Said to have served as a member of the Management Credit Committee (MCC), Asset & Liability Management Committee (ALMC), and Management Risk Committee (MRC), Idise holds a Master Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University (Leadership & sustainability) and University of Columbia (Finance and General).

Adekola Hussein Aderinko, a former Head of IT & Operations at GTBank is the third of Chief Executive Officer Odeyemi’s key men.

The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science holder from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Master in Business Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University is the Chief Information Officer at Optimus Bank.

He “oversees the technology division and is responsible for aligning the bank’s business and information technology goals to provide creative solutions to its prestigious clientele” SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed.

With over  top level 10 years experience that spans commercial banking, technology, and operations, Hussein Aderinko is labelled a key component of the Optimus Bank management team.
