“No Police Aides Or Security Agents Should Escort Principals, VIPS to Polling Units” – Lagos C.P Orders As Bye-Elections Hold On Saturday

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu has issued an order regarding the Saturday, December 5, 2020 bye-election.

C.P Odumosu has directed that “that no police aides or security agents will be allowed to escort their principals or any Very Important Personalties (VIPs) to polling units or on any movement while the elections last, noting that any security aides violating this directive will be arrested and made to face the full weight of the law. “

This directive is part of movement restriction imposed between 6 am and 6 pm on Saturday as part of efforts to ensure “free, fair and credible bye elections into the Lagos East Senatorial and Kosofe 11 Constituency, Lagos State House of Assembly seats”

The Commissioner of Police’s directive is made known in a press statement signed by SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police public relations officer for Lagos State.
