Muiz Banire Clandestinely Backs Funmi Tejuoso To Become Lagos Speaker In Bounce Back Attempt

Muiz Banire, the former lagos state commissioner at logger head with power broker, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is making a bounce back attempt.

He is said to be clandestinely trying to install his choice as the next Speaker of Lagos state House of Assembly.

Sources divulged the man who ferociously spoke out against the leadership style of his mentor in the just concluded elections is backing female lawmaker elected for 4th term, Funmi Tejuosho to take over from the outgoing speaker.

Both Banire and Tujousho from the same

political base- Mushin- are said to enjoy extra ordinary rapport.

Incumbent, Adeyemi Ikuforiji lost the chance to return when he embarked on his ill fated quest to become the successor of Governor Babatunde Fashola.

Incidentally, insiders divulged Ikuforiji does not favour handing over to Funmi Tejuosho.

Sources however confirmed Banire and his candidate appear not to take this development as any form of stumbling block.

Sources claim Banire has put his contacts, influence and goodwill in and out of politics into play for Tejuosho to achieve her ambition.

‘He has equally put his money where is mouth is as well’ another insider divulged.

More findings however revealed Banire’s support is being kept as quiet as possible based on current state of his relationship with decision maker of lagos politics, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The man credited with the emergence of new political leaders changing the face of Lagos is yet to give a directive on who the party machinery should throw up as replacement for the outgoing Ikuforiji.

However even in the face of this, others interested in the speakership position have torched Funmi Tejuosho’s ambition with past allegations that ousted her as deputy speaker.

Making the rounds amongst re elected colleagues and new members are allegations that threw off her seat as the number two in the state house of assemble back then.

And for measures colourations of indecent dressing, excessive rapport with male members and top politicians are being added to the official charge of ‘gross misconduct bordering on undermining the authority of the House as well as disrespect to the House and violation of House rules’ that resulted in an impeachment notice signed by 30 members of the state house of assembly.

Outgoing speaker against the emergence of Tejuosho as his successor was incharge of the house during the impeachment that took place in 2009.
