New EFCC Chair, Ibrahim Magu Cleanse House With Arrest Of Anti Graft Body’s Director, Others In Move To Firm Up Agency’s Operational Process, Image
The new man at the helms of affairs at anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC- has initiated a housing cleansing move.
And the aim is to block leakages in redeeming the image the commission by preventing release of unauthorised official information resulting in what is labelled bad reports against the commission.
This move is said to have resulted in the arrest of some officers of the commission allegedly involved in the illegal release of sensitive information.

According to societynowng.com’s news source Premium times ‘’the action of the officers is prejudicial to discipline and violates their oath of allegiance to the Commission, an official of the EFCC said.
Those already in custody include a management staff of the rank of director, some senior and lower cadre officers, including a former senior operative who was allegedly dismissed for corruption and involvement in cult activities.’’
The online platform further revealed ‘’An official of the commission said, “In recent times, the EFCC has been at the receiving end of negative reports by bloggers and mainstream media, targeting its leadership. The malicious reports have done untold damage to the reputation of the Commission.
“Available facts indicate that the staffers, who operated as a syndicate, were desperately projecting the management staff to take over the leadership of the Commission while attacking the integrity, professionalism and reputation of the EFCC.
“The management staff is believed to have rallied the others into the plot with the promise that he would see to the exit of all police officers (including those who recruited him) from the Commission, once he ascended “the throne”, as Executive Chairman.”
Our source said the investigation was still ongoing with a possibility of more arrests in the coming days.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that also being discreetly investigated were staffs against whom allegations of corruption have been made by members of the public.
The spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached to comment for this story. He did not answer or return calls Thursday night.’’
