Bago Leads “End Polio Now” Campaign Organized By Rotary International

Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has flagged off an awareness campaign on the eradication of polio tagged, “End Polio Now”.

The campaign organized by Rotary International in collaboration with the Niger State Ministry of Primary Health was flagged off at the Senator Ibrahim Idris Kuta Level 2 Primary Healthcare Center Minna.

Farmer Bago who administered the polio vaccine on a child reiterated his administration’s determination in eradicating polio completely in the State.

He equally reaffirmed that he will continue providing all the necessary tools for all Primary Health Care Centers across the State to enable them offer medical services to Nigerlites.

District Governor, Rotary District 9126, Funkeakpo Ken Batife appreciated the farmer Governor for his commitment to the health sector and stressed that, Governor’s have been widely acknowledged to be critical stakeholders in creating awareness for people to believe in the authenticity of polio vaccines.

He said the awareness is also part of activities in marking the World Polio Day and enlightened the public on the availability of polio vaccines in all Primary HealthCare Centres, while urging parents to avail their children for vaccination.
