5 Major Categories To Watch Out For At The Nigerian Marketing Awards 2022

As the set day of the maiden edition of the Nigerian Marketing Awards (NMA) is fast approaching, there are a couple of reasons to anticipate the awards and their winners.
The NMA awards was initiated to recognize and reward hard working organisations and marketing professionals in the Nigerian marketing industry. The awards committee had earlier disclosed to the public that the purpose of the establishment is also to raise the standard by which marketing is practised in the country. It’s exciting to note that NMA is inspiring a culture of hard work, innovation and high-quality marketing planning and execution in the industry.
A 12-man award decision council made up of seasoned marketing professionals and accomplished experts will review and select the finalists. Winners are selected following a rigorous two-step procedure consisting of a pre-scoring process to shortlist entries after which a judging meeting is conducted to determine the winning entries.
In anticipation of the awards this November, here are 5 award categories to watch out for.
- Brand of the year: This award category recognizes the outstanding brand that has driven innovative contributions to the Nigerian marketing industry through its campaigns, while fostering relevant social impact.
- Campaign of the year: The campaign of the year category celebrates the most disruptive campaign over the past 12 months in Nigeria. The award honours the standard of planning, execution, results and impact of the campaign to the industry and citizens.
- Best use of social media: Social media has become one of the fastest means to foster thriving brand-customer relationships. This award category seeks to reward the brand that has stood out in its use of social media as a communication and interactive channel.
- Best reputation management of the year: The last 12 months have seen quite a number of Nigerian brands forced to develop creative and tactical approaches to resolving crisis and maintaining a positive brand reputation. This award will reward the most outstanding reputation management campaign.
- Brand Manager of the Year: The brand manager of the year award category recognizes the exceptional brand manager of the year. This category celebrates the hard work, achievements and contribution of the individual to the growth of marketing practice in the country.
