We Turned Losses Into Gains – Gov Fubara Declares, Tells New Year Plan

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has described 2024 as a challenging yet transformative year, one in which the state overcame adversity through resilience and divine grace. Speaking at the 2025 New Year State Banquet held yesterday, the governor reflected on the strides made despite setbacks, emphasizing how the administration turned losses into gains.
Fubara is engulfed in a raging make-or-mar supremacy war with his estranged godfather, Nyesome Wike.
Wike who installed Fubara as the his successor is the Minister for Federal capital, Abuja.
“Through resilience and God’s grace, we turned losses into gains,” Fubara stated, acknowledging the collective effort of the government and the people in surmounting obstacles to achieve progress.
He outlined the administration’s priorities for 2025, reiterating his commitment to improving critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and security. “In 2025, we will continue to build on these achievements, prioritizing education, healthcare, security, general welfare of the people, and upholding the integrity of our State,” he affirmed.
The governor attributed much of the state’s progress to the support of the citizens, which he described as the cornerstone of their success. “Your unwavering support remains the cornerstone of our success,” he noted, expressing gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their trust and cooperation.
As the state enters a new year, Governor Fubara extended his best wishes to residents, saying, “Wishing you a prosperous New Year!”
The banquet, which was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders, served as a platform for reflection and renewed commitment to the development of Rivers State.
