Abiodun, visibly emotional, described the late publicity secretary as resourceful
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday paid a glowing tribute to the late Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, describing him as an invaluable asset to his administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose death is a monumental loss to the state.

Speaking at the Fidau Prayer held at St. John Community Primary School in Ijebu Itele, the governor recounted Oladunjoye’s pivotal role in the emergence, stability, and progress of his administration, praising his unwavering loyalty, brilliance, and effectiveness as a party spokesman.

“As a party man and aide, Oladunjoye never believed in half measures. He went out of his way to defend the programmes, policies, philosophy, and image of the Ogun State Government under our leadership,” Governor Abiodun said. “He was a voice of courage and easily the best spokesman Ogun APC has ever produced.”

Abiodun, visibly emotional, described the late publicity secretary as resourceful, tenacious, and a dogged fighter who remained committed to public service and social advocacy throughout his life.

According to him, Oladunjoye’s contributions to the APC and to the administration’s successes in key sectors were immeasurable.

He said the late chairman of Ijebu East Local Government was “very dear to my heart,” hailing his passion for the people, his writing prowess, and his legacy of leadership at the grassroots. “As a local government chairman, his legacies are all around for all to see,” he added.

Governor Abiodun also offered prayers for the repose of Oladunjoye’s soul and assured the family of continued support from the state government.

APC State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, also reflected on their shared experiences and the deceased’s dedication to the party, calling his death both devastating and tragic.

The State 2025 Amirul Hajj and National President of ACOMORAN, Prince Adebayo Apelogun, urged Nigerians to live purposefully, reminding all of the inevitability of death.

He described Oladunjoye as a man who did his best and left a legacy of service behind.

In a moving tribute, the daughter of the deceased, Robiat, described her father as a principled and contented man who taught them simplicity and compassion.

“He was a father to many and a benefactor to countless people. Though he is gone, his memory will remain with us,” she said.

The Fidau Prayer drew a crowd of party faithful, community leaders, friends, and sympathizers, all gathered to honour the memory of a man widely regarded as a pillar of progressive politics in Ogun State.
