Orji Kalu’s Absence At Burial Of Senior Driver, Uche That Allegedly Slumped, Died At His Residence Set Off Fresh Angst Against Ex Gov In Home Town

There is a fresh round of anger against former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu in his home town.

And this latest happenstance is far away from political bickering with incumbent governor, Theodore Orji or related issues.

The ex governor’s newest contention revolves around absence at the burial ceremony of supposedly favoured senior driver that alleged slumped and died in his residence, Uche Orji.

The 37yrs old deceased nicknamed Pilot one – in inference to perceived closeness to his boss – reportedly died last month, September 2014.

His death has sparked quiet speculation.

But the absence of his long term boss and powerful politician, Orji Kalu at his burial – in the face of allegations of abandoning his immediate family ( Pilot One is survived by a wife and five children) resulted in open protests during his burial.

He was laid to rest in Igbere mende, Abia state in the tale end of last week- thursday.

Youths of the town took charge of the ceremony decorated with pocketful of protests. And anti Orji Uzor Kalu’s chants.

Information pieced together revealed the youths angst augmented with aggrieved family
has foundation he claims, the decease’s devotion to duty and hard stance loyalty to his boss deserves at least a show of sympathetic presence from the former governor.

Especially because employee and employer are kins men from same town – the politician, a community leader in the area.

Sources close to Orji Kalu however attribute staying away to political antics of opponents at ‘creating an unbecoming scenerio’ from the affair.

Orji Uzor Kalu is currently enmeshed in a convoluted and volatile fight ex protege and incumbent governor of the state, Theodore Orji.
