The governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun has stalled possibility of renewal of violence by protesting students after they were dispersed via tear gas by armed policemen in the state capital, Abeokuta.

The Governor perfected this via a hurried meeting with the agitators before they regroup to step up their protest and possible increased violent engagements with law enforcers.

Mr Amosun who earlier refused to address the student protesters met with them the Moshood Abiola Stadium, after the police ‘dealt’ with them and pledged to look into their demands within two weeks.

He further doused tensions with donations of buses to all higher institutions of learning in the state.

The students, particularly from Olabisi Onabanjo University were clamouring immediate implementation of announced school fees reduction and further reduction.
