Hunt Them Down!” — Tinubu Orders Military, Police, DSS After Niger Terror Attack
describing the attack as a direct challenge to the authority
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an all-out manhunt for the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji community in Niger State, directing the military, police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are swiftly brought to justice.
The president also instructed security agencies to immediately rescue women and children abducted during the assault, describing the attack as a direct challenge to the authority and resolve of the Nigerian state.
Tinubu issued the directive on Sunday following reports that terrorists, believed to be fleeing from Sokoto and Zamfara after a Christmas Eve air strike by the United States, invaded Kasuwan Daji, killing villagers and abducting residents.
Condemning the killings and abductions, the president expressed deep sympathy with the affected families and extended his condolences to the government and people of Niger State.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions,” Tinubu declared, adding “No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice.”
The president assured residents of Niger State that security agencies have been mandated to intensify operations around vulnerable communities, particularly those close to forests that have long served as hideouts for criminal elements.
He urged Nigerians to remain united in the face of the tragedy and warned against divisive rhetoric capable of weakening national cohesion and undermining ongoing security efforts.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison,” Tinubu said.
“United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary, and reclaim peace and security for these attacked communities”, the President stressed.
