Fight Without Border… Gov Godswill Akpabio, Ex SSG Umana Umana Quarrel Publicly In America

The fight between Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio and his former political backer and secretary to the state government, Obong Umana Okon Umana has gone international.

The former friends turned political gladiators were recently engaged in a public quarrel in the United States of America.

Reports indicate the situation degenerated to such that Umana publicly branded Akpabio ‘a liar’ and the Governor labelled the latter ‘a dreamer’ that will never realise his gubernatorial ambition.

The venue of what sources itemised as ‘a distasteful episode’ was a what was described ‘an enlarged meeting of Akwa Ibom people resident in the United States.

Informants divulged Umana Umana had gotten wind of the meeting and attended to drum up support for his gubernatorial ambition.

He had taken the floor and was leveraging on allegation of incompetence, corruption and abuse of office against the incumbent government in Akwa Ibom state, with a catcher- apology for been a part of it and appeal that need to redress his wrongs part of the reasons he wants to become the next state helms man when Governor Akpabio walked in.

Information revealed, Umana had to be physically restrained and Akpabio himself cordoned off to prevent physical fight.

The governor reportedly responded to his former SSG’s threats with a counter one of his own.

‘He told Umana in the same passion he will never become Governor..that Umana is a dreamer…their conflict was so intense, it was such a distasteful show of emotion, personal and political animosity’ a source claimed.

Reports indicate the furore created by their open quarrel was such that the forum was abruptly brought to an end.

The fallout of this latest clash between the duo remain to be seen.
