Does Not Reflect My Position — Mutfwang Speaks On PDP’s Kicking Out Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu From Party
faulted the timing of the push to axe the party chieftains
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has dissociated himself from the move to expel prominent figures of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, including the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose; and former National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor said the matter was neither discussed at the PDP Governors’ Forum nor at the National Executive Committee meeting before it was presented, stressing that the proposal “does not reflect my position.”
Mutfwang faulted the timing of the push to axe the party chieftains, warning that such action could deepen existing cracks within the PDP at a time the opposition party should be consolidating. He argued that expulsion was not a strategic step toward resolving its internal challenges.
He urged party stakeholders to pursue unity, dialogue and reconciliation, insisting that only a collective effort can rebuild and reposition the PDP ahead of future political contests.
