President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have paid glowing tribute to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, describing him as “a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty” as he marks his 84th birthday on March 2, 2026.

In a State House statement issued on Sunday, the President extolled the revered cleric’s humility, wisdom and enduring national impact, noting that his influence extends far beyond the pulpit.

“Pastor Enoch Adeboye… is one of our nation’s greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty,” the statement read.

Tinubu praised the octogenarian’s contributions to philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment, observing that his stewardship over the past five decades has shaped lives across generations and continents.

According to the President, Adeboye’s teachings and leadership have continued to transform individuals and communities “in the country and beyond,” reflecting a legacy that transcends cultures and borders.

The President and the First Lady congratulated the cleric, fondly known as Daddy G.O., and joined his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, members of the RCCG and the broader Christian community in thanksgiving for what they described as “an exceptional life of impact.”

The statement further acknowledged Adeboye’s consistent prayers for the nation and his patriotic commitment to its progress.

Tinubu commended what he termed the clergyman’s “unceasing prayers for our nation” and his “manifest determination and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.”

As Adeboye celebrates the milestone, the President prayed that God would continue to grant him good health and strength “as he continues his good work in the Lord’s vineyard,” underscoring the administration’s recognition of the cleric’s spiritual and moral influence in the country’s public life.

Adeboye, who has led the RCCG for decades, remains one of Nigeria’s most influential religious leaders, with a global ministry footprint and a reputation for disciplined leadership and expansive church growth that has made the denomination one of the most prominent Pentecostal movements worldwide.
