How Adebutu Got Zero Vote In Election Lawal Emerged Ogun PDP Guber Candidate

A statement released on Monday evening says Jimi Lawal has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

This development is attributed to the result of the fresh primary election ordered by the court in Ogun State.

Revelations from the statement claim Jimi Lawal got 456 votes while Ladi Adebutu and other gubernatorial hopefuls Segun Sowunmi and Abodunrin Abimbola got zero votes.

“The truth is that Adebutu and the others boycotted Monday’s gubernatorial primary, they didn’t participate” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The information available revealed that Adebutu and the other gubernatorial primary are waiting on the outcome of the appeal made by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP against the judgment that canceled the May 25, 2022, PDP primary election held in Ogun State.

The judgment made on September 27, 2022, at the Federal High Court in Abeokuta Ogun State nullified the legitimacy of all PDP candidates in Ogun State and ordered fresh elections within 14 days.

Monday’s primary election was in line with the directive by the Federal High Court SocietyNow.Ng learned.

According to the information at hand “the governorship rerun election was held at the DLK Event Centre, the National Assembly and State House of Assembly primaries were held in the various constituencies.”

The digs by SocietyNow.Ng, however, revealed that aside Adebutu and the other gubernatorial hopefuls- the Chairman of the PDP in Ogun state, Sikiruali Ogundele was also not a part of Monday’s primary elections.

Ogundele 24hrs to Monday’s primary election issued a statement that asserted that “the Ogun state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hereby distance itself from any purported primary election for aspirants of the party.”

Inside information, however, claimed that Ogundele is a strong Adebutu supporter and couldn’t have taken any other position.
