2027: Adeleke’s Victory, Beacon Of Hope For Ogun — Adebutu

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a beacon of hope for the people of Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adebutu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, commended Adeleke for what he described as his steadfastness, pro-people governance and ability to secure the mandate freely given to him by the people of Osun State.

He said the outcome of the Osun governorship election demonstrated that the will of the people would ultimately prevail, describing Adeleke’s victory as an indication that voters could resist political deceit and insist on good governance.

Adebutu said, “I heartily congratulate my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for proving that when the people stand firmly behind a leader, no force can subvert their will.

“His strides in Osun are a testament to what the people really need — good governance and genuine empathy for the masses,” the gubernatorial candidate says.

The former federal lawmaker said the Osun result should serve as encouragement to Nigerians, particularly the people of Ogun State, ahead of the 2027 elections.

He also took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, saying the party was losing its grip on the electorate.

According to him, the people of Ogun State have become increasingly aware of what he described as the failures of the APC administration and would use their votes to effect a change in 2027.

“Let this also serve as a clear notice to the ruling party here in Ogun State. The APC is a sinking ship in Ogun State,” he asserted, adding “The people have seen through the facade, and I say this with all sense of responsibility: no amount of padding—whether it is the padding of election figures, padding of contracts, or political theatrics—can stop the APC from sinking in Ogun State.

“Their days of holding the state backward are numbered.”

Adebutu further reiterated his commitment to what he described as reclaiming the “stolen mandate” of the people of Ogun State from the APC, urging PDP members and supporters to remain resolute.

He prayed for continued wisdom and strength for Adeleke in the administration of Osun State, while expressing confidence that the PDP would make significant gains in Ogun State in 2027.
