Zenon Oil boss, Femi Otedola and Capital Oil boss, Ifeayi Uba are engaged in a very serious business war at present.

And the battle is said to be spiralling into an alarming dimension.

It has started adopting the toga of ethnic division.

Information at the disposal of www.societynowng.com revealed that Otedola and Uba are fighting for who gets the federal government nod to be the sole importation of domestic petroleum product, Kerosene in Nigeria.

The business is described a big money maker for whoever gets to be in charge

www.societynowng.com investigations have however revealed that, what the two actors in the battle are fighting for is beyond business- they are battling for the survival of all that they have toiled for all their life.

Otedola’s Zenon Oil and his other business are mortgaged to the hilt with mind boggling debts, same for Ifeayi Uba’s Capital Oil and other business holdings.

Reportage of court cases by debtors, especially financial institutions, striving to take over their property and businesses in lieu of debts are common knowledge here and there.

The two want to use the kerosene business to leverage back to days of business buoyancy.

Findings by www.societynowng.com revealed that Otedola was the first to initiate the move to corner that particular business sector- but after persistent pressure he couldn’t seal the deal.

And sensing that Otedola’s influence with the presidency appeared waned- Uba was said to have started making an inroad into the business area.

After direct approach failed, the Capital Oil boss is said to have followed up with the ethnic card.

He is currently employing the influence of igbo senators, house of representative members and others in position of power to help him secure the deal because – according to the theme of his campaign-‘ he has the business capacity to get the job done but is being frustrated because he doesn’t know anybody in Abuja’

His strategy is said to be gathering momentum by the day with series of business meetings and receptions in Lagos and Abuja for his promoters in recent weeks.

Otedola is said not be resting on his oars in securing the deal as well, he is said to have become aware of the growing force against his interest and started calling in all markers of influence he could come up with directly or indirectly to counter the move.

Though it is not clear whether they have had a direct physical over the issue-it is confirmed that they are passionately working against each other’s interest to achieve their aim.

Followers of events are however interested to see whether old player in the game of influence in the presidency, Otedola can still pull such a deal or be beaten to it by new comer, Uba remains to be seen.
