The Oil baron and his outfit are being roped into raging allegations another player in the petroleum sector, Sahara Energy is being shielded from any serious investigation by a top level presidential aide and trusted ally of the President.

The talks filtering out is that Sahara Energy accused of serving as a clandestine funnel of fund to third parties by embattled former petrol minister, Diezani Madueke ,to the tune of over $400m amongst other allegations, is having its case handled as a ‘’political affair’’.

And political muscles are allegedly being mustered against anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to handle investigation against the oil firm with care according to information gleaned from online platform saharareporters.

According to the news spotter, one of the pointers to attempts to shield the oil firm from investigation was a recent development.

EFCC officials reportedly raided the Lagos and Abuja Headquarters of Sahara Energy as part of its investigation on May 26 but contrary to expectation, the development was allegedly ordered kept under wraps and information gathered sealed the news platform asserted.

Benny Peters and Aiteo got roped into the emerging scenario over claims of involvement in one of the major cases Sahara Energy is allegedly being shielded from – the Crude Oil Swap deal.
Along with Sahara Energy, Benny Peters and his Aiteo group are listed as one of those who reaped at least about $4billion in public funds through the shadowy arrangement put together and approved by embattled Diezani Madueke.

Other beneficiaries such as Jide Omokore, his firm, Atlantic Energy and runaway partner Kola Aluko are currently subjects of intensive probe and prosecution by anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on issues relating to the deal – and others.
It is however nto sure whether as roped in, Benny Peters and his outfit current enjoys the political solution shield Sahara Energy is claimed to be luxuriating in.

Digs by societynowng.com revealed this development comes at a time Mr Peters is currently battling hard underground to extract himself from the claws of the Federal Inland Revenue Service over allegations of mega money tax evasion.

Peters is said to be in negotiation with the FIRS and fine tuning compromise on how the allegations against him does not turn a major scandal with seal off of his offices.

And now he has to contend with being roped into the emerging Sahara Energy saga.
