Words On The Street Gifts Demola Adeleke Victory Against Gov Aregbesola’s Candidate Mudasiru Hussein In Bid To Become Osun West Senator

Ahead the Saturday July 8 2017 Senatorial bye election in Osun state, the words on the streets have it that Demola the younger brother of Isiaka Adeleke is in strong position to win.

Demola who defected from the All Progressives Congress to pick the ticket of rival political party, People’s Democratic Party to achieve his aim is the younger brother of Isiaka Adeleke, the deceased holder of the seat up for grab.

Demola left the APC after a fierce battle with Governor of the state Rauf Aregbesola and his preferred choice Mudasiru Hussein on who becomes the party’s candidate.

His defection to the PDP turned the fractured political platform into a formidable force for the July 8 Senatorial contest.

And the streets claim backed with his family’s influence, sympathy evoked by the sudden death of his brother and numbers at stake, Demola should beat Mudasiru to the seat – all things equal.

According to one of the street permutations that gifts Demola Victory there are votes and influences from three areas which will determine the winner.

The areas are given as Ejigbo, Ede and Iwo.

Demola’s main strength is in Ede an area with two local governments and a huge number of votes.

The popularity rating of Demola and Hussein is given as 80% in his favour and 20% for the opposition.

Governor Aregbesola’s candidate, Mudasiru Hussein is from Ejigbo.

Ejigbo possesses a local government and naturally Hussein is stronger in his domain.

But based on party affiliations, the popularity is give as 60% for APC (Hussein) and 40% to PDP (Demola).

And the APC candidate also has silent grumbling within the ranks of his party’s supporters in his domain to contend with.

Speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly Najeem Salaam is from Ejigbo and wants to become the next governor of Osun state.

Hussein’s success at the upcoming bye election’s effectively ends his gubernatorial ambition.

“You can’t have a governor and a senator from the same locality…it’s not done, what happens to other areas” a source pointed out.

The remaining area is disclosed as Iwo.

Iwo is labelled another voting area where the Adelekes as a family enjoy good support.

The late Isiaka Adeleke is said to have laid the ground work with his deeds in the area.

The popularity based on name and pedigree and party affiliation is given as 65% for Demola and 35% to Hussein.

These assertions are based on words on the streets, but keen followers of politics of the areas insist it goes beyond that.

And that already both sides are engaged in intense behind the scene negotiations that would actually determine the winner.
