Wike Takes On Atiku Over PDP Presidential Ticket

Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has reacted to reported claims by former President Atiku Abubakar that he is sure of winning the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 Presidential election.

Atiku reportedly made the claim after he met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Wike reacting to the assertion credited to Atiku stated “I didn’t expect him frankly speaking to say that he will always take the ticket of the party. That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted,…

“People should watch. There will be shock as far as PDP convention is concerned. People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many persons and it is not good in politics.”

The reaction of the Governor of Rivers state was made known in a statement issued by spokesperson Kelvin Ebiri.
