Why Tinubu’s Loyalists Are Happy With Court Summon Over Alleged Alpha Beta Mega Scam
Charles Oyelesi
Loyalists of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State insist that they are happy with the court summons issued to the powerful politician.
Tinubu has been dragged to court by Oladapo Apara, a former Managing Director of Alpha Beta Consulting.
Apara who claimed to be one of the founders of the company claimed he was forced out and his dues as a founding partner stopped.
He also alleged a N100Billion fraud case against the company which he failed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission refused to act on.

Apara added to the voices that Tinubu is skimming funds from the revenue of Lagos State through Alpha Beta which is structured in a way that does not show the involvement of the former Governor.
Alpha Beta which collects tax on behalf of the Lagos state government earns 10% of the estimated N300billion revenue according to revelations made by Apara.
The checks made by societynow.ng, however, revealed that Alpha Beta’s involvement in the finances of the government of Lagos state has been a major source of corruption allegations against Tinubu.
The deal between the company and the state was facilitated when he was governor of Lagos State.

Supporters of Tinubu, however, claim they are happy with the court case over the development.
Their ‘’happiness’’ is hinged on claims that once the court clears Tinubu off the allegations, it is one major problem less for the powerful politician who is decorated with talks of interest in becoming the next President of Nigeria.
‘’..Anyone who will become president in 2023 must be scrutinized logically..’’ one of Tinubu’s passionate supporter stated making a direct connection between optimism over the case and the politician’s much talked about Presidential ambition.

The checks by societynow.ng revealed that hordes of the supporters of the major promoter of the ruling All Progressives Congress share this sentiment.
For reasons yet to be unearthed, supporters of Tinubu are very positive that he would come out of the court case instituted by Apara in glowing colors.
It will just be another version of the Code of Conduct Tribunal trial that helped Tinubu shut down talks of hidden wealth.
The Code of Conduct Tribunal cleared Tinubu off all allegations of wrongdoings including that of siphoned wealth which weighed heavily on his neck after his two terms as the governor of Lagos State.
His supporters believe the court case instituted by the former Managing Director of Alpha Beta would turn out the same way.
A Lagos State High Court in Igbosere when the case is domiciled has ordered Tinubu and the current Managing Director of Alpha Beta to appear before it within 42 days over the development.
