Insiders say that the threats to impeach Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo state have been rested.

Those who should disclose that a political solution to the “issues at state” is being explored.

“The party directed a political solution rather than the impeachment of the Deputy Governor” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The directive is said to have come from the highest level of the All Progressives Congress outside the state.

Aiyedatiwa has been the target of all manners of attacks by those keen to scuttle his chances of becoming the next Governor of Ondo state.

The Ondo state Governorship election comes up next year.

Akeredolu

Governor Akeredolu’s open assertions that he wants Aiyedatiwa as his successor made the Deputy Governor the target of power mongers.

The attacks became unrelenting -and without borders – in the last year to the extent that it created a wedge between Aiyedatiwa and Akeredolu.

Aiyedatiwa refused to fight back in order not to jeopardize personal relationship with Akeredolu who has been battling illness that forced prolonged absence from his duties.

The Deputy Governor, however, sought protection from the court when impeachment was introduced in a daring move to force him out of office.

It helped Aiyedatiwa’s cause that the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Olusegun Odusola rebuffed pressure to set up a panel that would pave for the impeachment of the Deputy Governor despite a court order to the contrary.

Those who should know revealed that “higher political powers” outside the state have stepped in and directed a political solution to the situation.
