Why They Are Saying Wasiu Eshinlokun Is Wasting His Time In Fresh Move – Again, Backed By Remi Tinubu – To Become Lagos Speaker.

A familiar foe is up against the ambition of Mudashiru Obasa to retain his seat as the Speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly.

Wasiu Eshinlokun, the Deputy Speaker is said to have initiated underground campaign to take over Obasa’s seat when a new Assembly is inaugurated.

Both Obasa and Eshinlokun secured re-elections as members of the Lagos state House of Assembly.
Sources confirmed that Eshinlokun has, again, secured the backing of Senator Remi Tinubu in his renewed offensive against Obasa.

Sources confirmed that the wife of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu backed Eshinlokun in the futile attempt to stop Obasa from becoming Speaker of the winding to end Lagos Assembly.

‘’I hear they are already holding meetings and plotting to make Eshinlokun the Speaker of the next Assembly but I can confirm to you it is all just a waste of time’’ a source stated emphatically.

Societynow.ng learned that Asiwaju Tinubu is the real power behind Obasa’s posture to retain his position as the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly.

‘’And Obasa has been extremely loyal to the political family of Tinubu.’’ Societynow.ng learned.

Multiple sources confirmed that outside the fact that the political arrangement that produced Governor-Elect Babajide Sanwo-Olu has already effectively knocked out Eshinlokun from the race for who becomes next Speaker (Sanwo-Olu and Eshinlokun are from same political zone of Lagos East while Obasa is from Lagos West), Asiwaju Tinubu would never let his wife or anybody determine who occupies such a prize opposition.

Insiders disclosed that it is also to Obasa’s credit that the next Lagos Assembly would be populated by re-elected lawmakers who owe strong allegiance secondarily to him and primarily to Tinubu.

Outside of the Lagos Assembly, societynow.ng learned that Obasa’s enjoys enormous popularity with the leaders of his party, All Progressives Congress, within and outside his state in the bid to retain his position.

Secondly, he is backed by Remi Tinubu who draws influence from Obasa’s main backer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and thirdly, he is from the same political zone as governor-elect Sanwo-Olu and is up against someone from a larger vote area and influence’’ an insider analyzed.
