Insiders insist Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor Elect of Lagos state and Muiz Banire have a growing closeness between.

Societynow.ng, however, learned that the two politicians are being very careful with this development.

‘’And the reason for this simple, Banire remains at odds with Sanwo-Olu’s main benefactor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’’ a source pointed out.

Tinubu secured the gubernatorial ticket that enabled Sanwo-Olu became the Governor-Elect of Lagos state.

Banire played a huge role in Femi Hamzat becoming the Sanwo-Olu’s deputy.
Societynow.ng learned that though Banire and Sanwo-Olu have a relationship of a sort before talks of gubernatorial ambition came to be, the Governor-Elect’s affection for the man at odds with his benefactor took with roots and flourish based on the kind of support that has been shown to him.

Banire is said to have doled out N200million to Sanwo-Olu to support his gubernatorial ambition.

This is said to be outside of fund that the Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria gave to the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress to help with election expenses.

Societynow.ng further learned that the funds are outside of Banire facilitating access to ‘’opportunities and supports’’ that would have been unavailable to Sanwo-Olu based links to Tinubu.

Societynow.ng learned that the ‘’helping hand’’ attitude of Banire has endeared him to Sanwo-Olu but both are ‘’obviously keeping the closeness as quiet as possible’’ to avoid the obvious political implication of the Governor-Elect’s closeness to perceived estranged allies of his benefactor.
