Why Ogun Council Chairmen Are Jubilating

The 20 council chairmen in Ogun State are in a state of euphoria.

Sources attribute this development to a recent action by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The governor recently released about N200 million per local government to bring governance closer to the people through various projects.

Additionally, the security votes for the council chairmen have been increased—separate from the released funds.

“They are happy because this is a huge improvement from what they are used to,” according to information from the town.

The local government chairmen were sworn-in in November 2024 with most of them re-elected.
