Why It Is Wrong To Say Oba Of Lagos Akiolu Is Moving To Banana Island

Insiders – and custodians of culture – reveal it is wrong to say that Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu is moving his palace to Banana Island, the billionaires’ haven.

“There is nothing like that” a deep source asserted.

Multiple sources assert that the palace of Oba of Lagos remains in Iduganran on Lagos Island and it is not moving.

“Banana Island that they are talking about is on Ikoyi land and there is a king there Onikoyi, so do they expect Oba of Lagos to move his palace to another kingdom or reside under the authority of another King” a source asked rhetorically.

Oba Patrick Fafunwa is the Onikoyi of Ikoyi, where Banana Island, Lekki Penninsula, and other premium properties are located.

Insiders disclosed that away from the talks of moving his palace outside of his Kingdom, the Oba of Lagos is actually taking steps to rebuild and refortify his palace.

The palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu was invaded by hoodlums under the pretext of shooting of unarmed #EndSars protesters on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

The invaders looted the palace making away with personal effects of the King, including his traditional Staff of Office.
