Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election was in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state on Wednesday, August 18, 2022.

He came primarily to meet with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the latter’s Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OPL).

Tinubu, accompanied by Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, and Chief Bisi Akande was welcomed to Abeokuta by all the leaders of the APC in Ogun state across factions and regions except former Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako – Oyedele, former Governors Olusegun Osoba and Gbenga Daniel, former Senator Gbenga Kaka were some of the popular party leaders that welcomed Asiwaju Tinubu to Abeokuta in the visit that turned into a rally.

Amosun was “glaringly” missing when APC leaders met with Tinubu on arrival and at the engagement with former president Obasanjo.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed why Amosun was missing.

The information available revealed that the Senator representing Ogun Central was out of town.

“Amosun was not in town” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Those who should know insist that Amosun had intimated Asiwaju Tinubu that he would be “unavoidable absent” during his visit.

Unconfirmed sources claim the former Governor was in Lagos.

The unending supremacy tussle spiraled into a recent open declaration by Amosun that Governor Abiodun, the candidate of APC for the 2023 gubernatorial election “must go”.
