Immediate past Minister, Rauf Aregbesola is regrowing his popularity in Osun state and Governor Ademola Adeleke is working on egg shells around him SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The checks made by SocietyNow.Ng revealed that many find this particularly interesting because Aregbesola is also exploring means to align all his party’s factions and forge them back into a formidable entity in the state.

Aregbesola is the forerunner of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State with wide grassroot spread while Adeleke is the leader of the rival People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Aregbesola is seeking political recompense in Osun state after his action- and inaction – resulted in his party’s gubernatorial loss to PDP in July 2022.

 The former minister in the face of a complex supremacy battle refused to support his party man, Gboyega Oyetola for a second term as Governor of Osun state.

Many insist that the development contributed enormously to Oyetola’s loss to Adeleke.

Aregbesola, a former two-term governor of Osun state, said to favor anything that helps him to build on his support base is acknowledged as the politician with the largest following across party lines in Osun state.

“Aregbesola has massively ingrained himself into the socio-political life of Osun state-particularly among crowd pullers, Adeleke understands that but Oyetola did not grasp the magnitude” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Insiders insist that is why Adeleke is walking on egg shells around Aregbesola who has remained the talking point in Osun state since his homecoming celebration started on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

“Adeleke understands that Aregbesola is a master of grassroots politics and knows going against him will only quicken the forging of APC factions into a formidable opponent, a direct play into the hands of the former governor” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Insiders confirmed that to be fair to Adeleke, the Governor has consistently went out of his way to honor Aregbesola while he was at odds with party man and immediate past Governor, Oyetola.

“But that was a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend and a apt political play to the advantage of Adeleke” some insist.

But whatever the case, the consensus remains Rauf Aregbesola is the most influential politician across party lines in Osun and certainly not someone to be toyed with, especially by Governor Adeleke amid the former minister’s mend fencing moves within the APC.
