The reason Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election did not use the popular Moshood Abiola Stadium when he campaigned in Ogun state has come to light.

The stadium that is located in the state capital, Abeokuta”was undergoing renovation” according to Emmanuel Ojo, one of the aides of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Ojo who is in charge of the social media team of Governor Abiodun made the revelation in reaction to an allegation on his social media page that the Ogun state government denied the PDP the use of the stadium for Atiku’s campaign last week but made it available for the campaign of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), today January 25, 2023.

“Injustice of the highest order.

PDP requested for the use of MKO ABIOLA STADIUM ABEOKUTA for its Presidential campaign rally last week, but Ogun State government denied them access to the facility with the claim that the said stadium was under renovation…

Fast forward to about a week after, the same MKO ABIOLA STADIUM ABEOKUTA is going to be used for ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS Presidential Campaign.

Then I ask, is OGUN STATE Government done with the renovation of the stadium?

“What does the electoral act says about giving access to other political parties to make use of state facilities?

To the best of my knowledge, this facility is owned by Ogun State government and not Prince Dapo Abiodun or its Presidential Candidate…

Why can’t we just do things that right way.

If you aren’t allowing a particular party have access, you ought to look for another location for this campaign…” Facebook user, Adejola Adeyemi Crown posted in the comment section of a post announcing today’s presidential campaign by the APC at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abeokuta.

And Emmanuel Ojo responded “Adejola Adeyemi Crown are you a journalist or PDP member? If you’re a journalist, you’d notice that the Stadium was under renovation up until last week and early part of this week.

If you’re a PDP supporter or apologist, you won’t see it that way…”

Atiku campaigned in Abeokuta on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, while Tinubu’s campaign is underway.
