The former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has pledged “renewed assurances of best wishes” to Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Oshiomhole described whatever happened between him and the Governor of Edo State in the past as “unfortunate” in his latest move at reconciliation.

Oshiomhole’s past actions saw Obaseki defected from the APC to rival People’s Democratic Party in a desperate bid to secure a second term in office – which he did.

Oshimhole a former Governor of Edo State who installed Obaseki as his successor, in a full-blown supremacy tussle, had ensured the Governor was disqualified from seeking a second term in office in APC.

Backed by Oshimhole’s opponents – even within the APC – Obaseki defected to the PDP and actualized his second term ambition.

The Supreme court recently validated Obaseki’s victory and Oshiomhole in return has written a congratulatory letter to the Governor pledging “renewed assurances of my very best wishes.”

The letter which asserted that “our relationship has through the years developed beyond being friends to being brothers of different parents” reads..

Your Excellency,
Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki,
Governor of Edo State,
Government House,
Benin City.

Congratulations on your victory at the supreme Court which has effectively laid to rest all matters arising from the last election. As I had repeatedly reminded you during our several meetings, our relationship has through the years developed beyond being friends to being brothers of different parents. Whatever happened is unfortunate and I believe God has a reasons for everything. I have put all behind me and moved on. As I have consistently advised, please be magnanimous in victory. You are the Governor of all Edo people regardless of political leanings. Once again, congratulations Exellency! Please accept the renewed assurances of my very best wishes and high regards.

Signed:
Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.
