Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun state has provided a glimpse into his plan for a second term in office at his swearing-in ceremony.

He was sworn in today, May 29, 2023.

He provided a glimpse into what to expect as he take the reins of leadership for another four years in a social media post that reads…

At the inauguration ceremony held today, I thanked God for His divine guidance, and the good people of Ogun state, for their support throughout the previous dispensation and for giving me and my Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele the privilege to govern the affairs of this great state, once again.

I noted that the unflinching faith in our ability to deliver on our promises meant a lot and we would ensure that we do better than before.

Furthermore, I noted how we had virtually delivered on all promises made four years ago; these includes first and foremost, infrastructural development.

Since our vision concerning this sector was to give Ogun State focused and qualitative governance and to create the enabling environment for a Public-Private Sector Partnership, which is fundamental to the creation of an enduring economic development and individual prosperity for the people, we were able to complete different projects with over 400km of constructed, reconstructed, and rehabilitated roads, comprising more than 80 major roads, lower level roads, and even Federal roads, and other ground breaking projects.

Since we prioritized social welfare and well being of our people, we began a development agenda that encompasses health, housing, security, water supply, and women empowerment and these have resulted in improved welfare of the good people of Ogun State.

On youth empowerment, our administration provided platforms for them to discover themselves to achieve potentials. Not forgetting our landmark achievements in the area of Agriculture Development and Food Security

I reiterated our committment to continuing our journey of ‘Building our Future Together’ by developing new policies, processes and programs and reinventing new ways to succeed at them.

As we moved forward, I noted that we would face many obstacles and challenges, but we are confident that together, we can overcome them.

I am honoured to serve as your governor once again, and I look forward to working with the good people of Ogun state to build a better state for generations to come
