The President of the Senate and Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, slipped badly on Thursday when he asked supporters of the PDP in Kwara State to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in Saturday’s election.
Buhari is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Saturday’s election, while Atiku Abubakar is the flag bearer of the PDP.
However, Saraki, who addressed a huge crowd of supporters at Baboko Secondary School in Ilorin, Kwara State, told them to cast their votes 90 per cent for Buhari in an apparent slip.
He said: “Those of us you are sending to Abuja to go and speak with them, what are we going to use in talking to them?”
The crowd answered: “Vote”.
Saraki continued: “By the time we see our results by the grace of God, in all of Central (Kwara Central Senatorial District), we should cast all our votes for Buhari 90 percent.
“That is what can empower us.”
The crowd then shouted: “Atiku.”
Saraki then quickly corrected himself.
