Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, today held a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) consultative thank you meeting with Nembe, Southern Ijaw and Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Areas at the Government House, Yenagoa.

The meeting was to thank them for their performances in the last Presidential, National and State Assembly elections.

Governor Diri while thanking them during the Nembe meeting said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State is in support of the PDP stating that the PDP is not fighting APC but Chief Timipre Sylva as he has become unsellable and already rejected by his party.

The Governor also called on stakeholders to be more united and urged campaigns should be issue-based.

“We are going to campaign with issues, an issue-based campaign.

We are not fighting APC, APC members are all in support of PDP and my candidacy.

So, we are not fighting APC, we are fighting Timipre Sylva. We cannot have politicians who will rather than giving our people fish and skills, would be giving them drugs, guns to kill their brothers and sisters,”Governor Diri stated

The meeting had in attendance key party stakeholders from the three Local Government Areas led by their respective PDP Caucus chairmen, Chief Blessing Ipigansi Izagara for Nembe, Rt. Hon. Talford Ongolo for Southern Ijaw and Dr. Isaac Kumoko for Kolokuma/Opokuma.
