The Deputy Governor of Oyo State Raufu Agboola, Alhaja Amidat Agboola, the Head of Service and Commissioners Abiodun Abdul-Raheem and Seun Ashamu ( Lands and Energy) were refused entry at the eight-day prayer of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The prayer held at the Oluyole residence of the former Governor.

Societynow.ng learned that the delegation representing the Government of Oyo state were denied entry into the venue of the prayer because they did not inform the Ajimobi family – and organizers of the event – of intention to attend the eighth-day prayer.

‘’I heard that the event was by invitation and the arrangement was made for all guests following Covid-19 protocol. There was no arrangement to accommodate the delegation from Oyo State Government because they did not notify the organizers of the plan to attend the event and they were refused entry’’ a source stated.

The checks made by Societynow.ng, however, revealed that the development is attracting widespread criticism, especially based on earlier claims by Florence, the former Governor’s widow that the state government was playing politics with her husband’s death.

‘’Florence Ajimobi asserted the state government was playing politics with her husband’s death during the burial, she specifically accused the Deputy Governor when he came to pay a condolence visit and called for an end of such things, allowing the Government delegation to attend the prayer session was a perfect opportunity to live up to her words but what happened…I guess the end of the political rivalry in Oyo state is nowhere in sight’’ a source stated.

The Ajimobis belong to the All Progressives Congress while the rival People’s Democratic Party is in charge of the Government of Oyo State.

The State Government and the family of the former Governor have been embroiled in brickbats over allegations of stolen properties and related accusations since his death.
