Untold Story As Security Agents Go After Eateries Selling Drugged  Edibles

Security agents are on the prowl, particularly those from the drug law enforcement agency.

Societynow.ng gathered that their objective is simple – crack down on eateries selling drugged edibles for huge profits.

The information at hand revealed that part of the results of the investigation are the reported raids by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja and now Jos, plateau State.

The raids have resulted in recovery of assorted substances used for making the drugged edibles including marijuana.

The NDLEA in different press statements have also confirmed the arrest of some persons connected with the acts.

According to latest statement released by the agency’s spokesperson Femi Babafemi some of the places raided in Jos include “KNL Lounge located along Lamingo road and another branch along Mining Quarters, Rantya Low Cost estate, as well as Tuscany Lounge on Azaki Avenue”

Listed as recovered from these places are “psychotropic substances also seized from there include: Barcadin Codeine 14kg; Flunitrazepam 355.5grammes; Tramadol 370.1 grammes; Exol-5, 30kg; Diazepam 2.5kg and Pentazocine 1.5 kg, totalling 48.726kg.”

Societynow.ng gathered that Brownies, the popular name for drugged cookies, were also recovered from the raided eateries.

Insiders describe the gains from selling of the drugged edibles as huge with three pieces of Brownies going for between N1,500 and N5,000 depending on who is selling and where.

“Who is selling and where” is said to determine the quality and price.

Added information has it that the NDLEA is conducting active investigations in Lagos – described as a place of special interest – to burst syndicates making huge profits selling drug edibles here and there.
