Uneasy Silence As Tayo Ayinde Becomes Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Of Staff!

A poor attempt is being made to cover the growing perception that something is amiss in the new government in Lagos state.

While the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat share visibility amidst growing talks, another factor to contend with has been thrown into play.

Tayo Ayinde, a former gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos state has become the Chief of Staff.

Insiders disclosed that Ayinde’s appointment sailed through after stiff opposition.

There were serious issues of trust thrown up.

Tay Ayinde was the Director General of Sanwoolu’s campaign when the Governor was both an aspirant and as a candidate.

But what is hurting him now is not his work as a Camapign D.G but antecedents as a gubernatorial aspirant.

Ayinde was one of the twelve aspirants that immediate past Governor Akinwunmi Ambode defeated to become the All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2015 general election.

Ambode who was ferociously backed by political leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 3,735 out of the 5,703 votes while Ayinde polled 17 votes.

Current Deputy Governor Hamzat who came second in the exercise amassed 1,201.

New Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu was not a part of that particular exercise.

The findings conducted by societynow.ng revealed with Sanwo-Olu now Governor, Hamzat Deputy and Ayinde Chief of Staff it is an uneasy situation that pervades the new government is what is now being bandied.

Another insider pointed out that ‘’It is actually not necessarily about them but their backers, supporters, friends, career politicians and people of similar ilk who will be looking to exploit the situation by playing them against one another for selfish gains…it is really a dicey situation that has come into play’’.

Societynow.ng’s findings revealed with Ayinde’s appointment sailing through against thrown up odds, an uneasy silence decorates the government as observers keenly follow what is to come.

To his credit, Ayinde is said to have worked exceptionally hard for Sanwoolu to become governor right from inception through all the stages it took.
