Two More Lawmakers About To Dump Obaseki For Ize-Iyamu Within 48hrs
Charles Oyelesi
Emerging details have it that the support base of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the Edo State House of Assembly is about to be further decimated.
‘’I have it on good authority that he is about to lose two more lawmakers within the next 48hours’’ Babajide Otitoloju asserted during today’s edition of the popular television program on TVC Journalists Hangout.
The development would swell the numbers of lawmakers backing the gubernatorial ambition Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to nineteen (19) while those supporting Obaseki’s re-election would dwindle to five (5).
Obaseki had the support of ten (10) out of the twenty-four (24) members House of Assembly until last weekend when three members including the deputy speaker pledged allegiance to Ize-Iyamu.
The Governor denied 14 members legislative functions when he surreptitiously inaugurated the house 10 members loyal to him suspended 14 members allegedly loyal to former APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole the immediate past governor of Edo State is the main force behind the gubernatorial ambition of his former deputy Ize-Iyamu.
Ize-Iyamu is the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress while Obaseki dumped the APC to become the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in his hunt for re-election.
