Troubled Political Base As Efforts To Unravel Source Of Guber Candidate Razak Atunwa’s Certificate Scandal Blowback

The political base of People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in Kwara state, Razak Atunwa is troubled.

And the cause of this development is attributed to how Atunwa allegedly forged and submitted a fake National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate to pick the PDP gubernatorial ticket leaked into the media space.

Accusations and counter-accusations of how the mess that has painted the party, the candidate and his backers in unflattering colors came to be are said to be causing huge acrimony in Kwara PDP.

Accusing fingers are being pointed at those that contested for the gubernatorial ticket with Atunwa and their sympathizers.

‘’Some even rope in outgoing Governor Ahmed Abdulfatai into the mix claiming he orchestrated the scandal to provide the opportunity for a successor of his choice” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders, however, confirmed with nothing proven about how the scandal came to be, the suspicious floating about is weakening the ‘’formidable political base” that Atunwa is relying on to ride to power.

‘’The truth is that nobody knows who to trust, and everybody is becoming cautious in contributions and commitment to set agenda” an insider disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered leader of Atunwa’s political family – and the PDP – Senate President Bukola Saraki is said to be working on arresting the slipping morale caused by efforts to unravel the source of the Atunwa certificate scandal.
