An additional indication the relationship between Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the leadership of his party, All Progressives Congress has emerged.

Available information revealed the embattled governor did not attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Osun State Governor Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola.

Gboyega Oyetola was inaugurated as fifth Osun State Governor yesterday November, 27, 2018.

The ceremony held at the Osogbo stadium in the state capital.

Amosun’s snub of the occasion is against the background of his running battle over denial to pick his successor in Ogun state.

The APC Gubernatorial ticket has been handed to his estranged friend Dapo Abiodun.

Amosun is experiencing a major reduction in his power and influence within the APC in the attempt to force the party to give the governorship ticket to his preferred candidate, Adekunle Akinlade.

There are talks of possible defection surrounding the governor, with some of his core loyalists confirmed to have moved to another party in a bid to actualize Akinlade’s governorship agenda on another political platform.

All Progressive Congress top shots like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Adams Oshiomhole, Governors Abiola Ajimobi, Akinwunmi Ambode, Rotimi Akeredolu Abdullahi Ganduje, and party gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state Dapo Abiodun attended the inauguration of Oyetola as the new governor of Osun state.

Amosun had accused Tinubu as the chief mastermind of the plot against him in his state.

Interestingly, Amosun played a vital role in the emergence of Oyetola as Governor of Osun state – but this was before his face off with the leadership of his party started.

Findings by societynow.ng showed governor Amosun was part of all the important political last-minute negotiating team that helped Oyetola seal victory in the intense Osun gubernatorial election.

Amosun also took great personal risk to attend the burial of Isiaka Adeleke – in Osun state – to protect the party’s interest at a time state Governor Rauf Aregbesola dared not show his face at the event.

The Ogun state governor’s quick intervention saved a serving commissioner extremely loyal to Aregbesola from been lynched by an angry mob at Adeleke’s burial.

The situation is, however, not the same again as Amosun evidently stayed away from the swear-in ceremony of the man he worked hard to help secure power in protest against the treatment being meted out to him by the leadership of his party, APC.
