In the politics of Ogun state, a lot of interests are at play over who gets what in the new Government of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

And the reason for this is very simple, several interests – including strange bedfellows – came together to make Abiodun the Governor of Ogun state.

‘’So Abiodun is under great pressure to satisfy the forces at play, balance the acts and not be seen as unduly favoring one against the other especially those with conflicting interests’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng revealed that in the face of the pressure Governor Abiodun strives to maintain closeness to his key men, particularly early supporters of his gubernatorial ambition.

Ashiru was one of those that showed interests in succeeding former governor Ibikunle Amosun.

But like a thorough party man, Ashiru threw his weight behind Abiodun when leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress decided he would be the gubernatorial flag bearer.

Ashiru reportedly threw his resources and political structure behind the project Dapo Abiodun for Governor and contributed immensely to it becoming a reality.

The governor is said to reciprocate ‘’sincerity of purpose’’ deployed by Ashiru with extraordinary rapport with the former bank director turned politician.

Despite attempts to ‘’spoil’’ the closeness by ‘’certain individuals’’, the Governor and Ashiru are said to enjoy increasing good rapport.

One of the proofs of the fantastic relationship is said to be Ashiru’s inclusion in the recent visit by leaders of thoughts in Ogun state to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“You certainly don’t give people you don’t create opportunities for people you don’t trust or give them avenue to broaden their influnece” a source pointed out.

Without taking the shine off the Governor and other leader’s like Segun Osoba, Ashiru played a visible role at the special occasion.
