“The Difference Is Clear” – Chairman Ogun Council Of Traditional Rulers Compares Senator Yayi To Others

The Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Traditional Rulers – and the Olu of Ilaro – Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle has declared that “the difference is clear ” in comparison between Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola – the politician famously known as Yayi – and those that occupied the position before him.

Oba Olugbenle made the comparison without mention names.

The traditional ruler, who is also the paramount ruler of Yewaland in Ogun West,  stated “I have worked with three, even four Senators. he would be the fourth Senator I am working with. I have worked with three senators when i came.

“I met a senator, another one was elected when I was around and we had another one again, elected before Yayi came. I am not trying to mention names. but like an advert would say, if you put Fanta and Sprite down, they would say the difference is clear.”

The Olu of Ilaro assumed the throne on April 2012.

The first class royalty based his assessment on the infrastructural development Senator Adeola has attracted to the region within a year in office, the potentials regarding things to come as well as the “person” of talk of the town politician.

“Yayi’s attributes are something that are special. I have never noticed that in any politician since my growing up, knowing politicians. He is somebody that has a large heart. Even people that he doesnt know, he would extend his benevolent to them. He would not even bother seeing the person. That is Yayi for you” Oba Olugbenle provided insight.

Speaking how well, the Senator is doing in facilitating infrastructural development to Ogun West, the Olu of Ilaro who insists there is a huge gap comparing his region to other sectors in Ogun state, commented ” talk of road, talk of health, talk of education, he is doing everyting to bridge that gap. He may not bridge that gap overnight, absolutely. He can not bridge it in four years but if what I can see within one year is to measure what we should be seeing in four years, I would say that the entire Ogun West would close this infrastructural gap to the level that people will begin to ask, how did you do it.”

Oba Olugbenle shared his thoughts as part of videos of his achievements released to celebrate the 55th birthday celebration of Senator Adeola which climaxed in a never-before-seen empowerment in Ilaro on Sunday,  August 10, 2024.

Checks revealed that among the Senators before Adeola in Ogun West are immediate past Tolu Odebiyi – his party man – and Gbolahan Dada of the rival political party.

Oba Olugbenle was inaugurated as the newest Chairman of the Ogun state Council of Traditional Rulers in June 2024 by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
