The Biggest Problems For Organisers As Kashamu Buruji’s Burial Gets Underway

The arrangement for the burial of former Senator Kashamu Buruji is underway.

The colorful politician is scheduled to be buried today, Sunday, August 9, 2020, at mid-day – 12noon.

The burial is fixed for his Ijebu-Igbo country home, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Insiders, however, disclosed to societynow.ng that the burial organizers are facing two major problems.

Insiders disclosed that members of the larger People’s Democratic Party that expelled Kashamu from the party wants to play part in his burial for ‘’political gains.’’

‘’The aim is to zero in on Kashamu’s political structure as the battle for his political base begins’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered that the second major problem has to do with keeping his supporters away from the burial ceremony in line with Covid-19 protocols.

‘’Judging from the crowd that came to welcome his remains from Lagos to Ijebu Igbo yesterday night, the organizers face a hard task despite the lockdown in Ogun State’’ a societynow.ng learned.

This Saturday is the last of the weekend lockdown imposed in Ogun State by Governor Dapo Abiodun in the fight against Covid-19.

‘’The implication of this is that there is a lockdown in Ogun State as Kashamu’s burial gets underway today but the organisers fear that many of the late politician’s supporters would defy the lockdown to pay their last respect to their mentor and benefactor and it may be very difficult to effectively achieve Covid-19 protocols such as physical distancing, use of saniters and others ’’ a source pointed out.

Kashamu is one of the very few heavyweight politicians in Ogun State with fanatical followings.
