Takes From Tinubu’s Visit To Bayelsa
Diri acknowledged the impact of President Tinubu’s reforms
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri as a symbol of purposeful leadership.
President Tinubu made the remarks during his visit to the state to commission some landmark projects.
His words:
“Gov. Diri, you’ve done a great job. I’ve commissioned some projects- very transformative projects. The bridge, linking communities, dual carriageways {that are} creating opportunities and jobs and hope for our nation. Thank you for that commitment. You have demonstrated very purposeful leadership”, he said.
“Thank you for being a very good progressive governor. I feel at home in Bayelsa”, Tinubu stated.
In his speech, the Bayelsa state governor, Senator Douye Diri acknowledged the impact of President Tinubu’s reforms on the development of the nation particularly the intervention in the power sector which enabled his government to deliver on the pledge for an independent source of power supply.
According to Gov. Diri, “Your Excellency, your administration’s desire and decisive policy interventions have paved the way for meaningful reforms in various sectors including the power sector, enabling us to deliver on our pledge of reliable independent energy through the construction of 60Mega Watts gas powered turbines. For us, it is a cause for thanksgiving and rejoicing”
During the visit, the president commissioned, four legacy projects which include, the 630m Angiama-Oporoma bridge, a dual carriageway way linking the New Yenagoa City to the Airport road, Sagbama-Ekeremor road, and 60 MW gas turbine.
Also present in the event were, H.E Godswill Obot Akpabio, President of the Senate, Dame Didi Walson Jack, Head of Service of the Federation, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Hon. Minister of Petroleum(oil), Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo state, Gov. Sheriff Obowveri, Governor of Delta State, Governor Siminalaye Fubara, governor of Rivers State, Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, Federal lawmakers, Members of the state executive Council among other dignitaries.
