The Supreme Court has on Tuesday Invalidated the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State and ordered rival Hope Uzodinma to be sworn in.
This development is as a result of the verdict of a seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, which in a unanimous judgement declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the March 9, 2019, governorship election .
While reading the lead judgement , Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, ordered that the certificate of return issued to Ihedioha be immediately withdrawn and Uzodinma sworn-in.
